Here was a band that surprisingly lived up to their rep. Before their sold-out show at The Riviera I’ve only listened to Vampire Weekend more-or-less as background filler, but seeing them live in support of new sophomore album Contra was pleasantly charming. These guys really conjure images of sunny beaches with their pseudo-calypso Paul Simon riffs. I found it hard to resist this band’s infectiousness.

The first weekend of spring came and I had the pleasure of having Alysha Nett in my studio, we spent a few hours shooting different outfits.

Alysha Nett is a tattoo glamour model to keep your eye out for; not only is she very lovely but she goes the extra mile creating captivating poses. As a result she gets featured more and more both in print and online.

I took a short trip to Ohio last weekend to meet with family, and I managed to throw together a collaborative shoot.

I had hair and makeup stylists, and the lovely Sophie King standing in as model. She’s one of my favorite models, not only because she was one of my first when I forayed into making photography more than just a hobby many years ago.

Ten years after the release of their self-titled sophomore album, New Found Glory decided to throw an anniversary tour. Stopping at Chicago’s House Of Blues, they surprisingly played like it was released yesterday. They played an energetic set comprised of every song from the album, plus a five-song encore. Hardly any time was wasted once they hit the stage to bust out dangerously infectious pogo riffs. NFG was running around the entire stage with so much intense energy I was surprised when my three-song limit was up. I tried my best to grab shots of the entire band, but I couldn’t help but be drawn to the sheer photogenic energy of frontman Jordan Pundik.

Alkaline Trio played a tight-knit set to a very enthusiastic crowd this past weekend at Metro, to celebrate the release of their new album, This Addiction. So many people were pumping fists and singing along, I felt sheepish that I admittedly don’t know any songs by heart (except for their cover of The Misfits’ “Attitude”). You could tell that in addition to being Chicago natives, this band has a long, solid fanbase.
