Meet Karin, a Swedish model recently moved to Los Angeles to push her modeling career.  I thought it would be great to grab some bikini/swimwear photos out on Venice Beach, as a final goodbye to the Summer weather in LA.  We wanted to get some photos with a sexy commercial appeal, and Karin really brought it with great poses, golden locks, and a bronze tan to boot.

So last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the Los Angeles Fetish Film Festival, a gathering of fetish film enthusiasts to watch a collection of entries catering to affinities of leather, latex, and lace.

The weekend ended with a small little masquerade party at Hollywood’s Dragonfly industrial club, and I felt compelled to take my camera along with me, as soon as I heard the marvelous Miss Mosh was slated to give a headlining burlesque performance!

Reel Big Fish brought their brand of zany ska punk to the House Of Blues on Sunset Strip.  I think it’s always nice to shoot a band with more variety in their instruments than just the standard guitar players.  It’s always a fun challenge to shoot an entire horn section as well.

Here’s some photos I shot back in the Spring of UK tattoo model Cervena Fox.  Cervena gets lots of exposure not only for her excellent inkwork, but also for her trademark long red hair!  She’s a London tattoo model that tours the States a couple times a year, so I made sure to get her into my studio when she was last in Los Angeles since I had a corset that I thought would look great on her.

I wanted to quickly share with you a few images of a recent studio shoot I did.  The model was looking for some startup portfolio images to help her land gigs with fitness, bikini, and promo modeling.  She definitely had the body-type for these types of gigs — and beautiful hazel eyes to match — so I wanted to make sure she came away with photos to really help her promote herself.

Somewhat different from my usual clientele (ie, half-nude tattoo chicks and rock stars), but I wanted to demonstrate my versatility with something a little more, well, traditional.

Nearly exactly one year since I shot Flogging Molly on tour in Chicago, I managed to shoot their set at House Of Blues on Sunset Strip for their 8th annual “Green 17″ tour.  And I gotta say, Los Angeles House Of Blues may be one of my new all-time favorite venues.  At least with it’s rustic, pub appeal, it seemed a very fitting venue for Flogging Molly’s brand of celtic punk.  With fantastic lighting, to boot!

In preparation for shooting Flogging Molly, I got to limber up by shooting opening band Suedehead, a soulful motown-meets-punk rock band playing a high-energy set for eager fans at the House Of Blues.

Surprised I was to learn that in spite of the lead singer’s heavy UK accent, Suedehead hails from neighboring Orange County California.  Of note was their soulful rendition of Fugazi’s “Waiting Room.”

I was highly impressed with Emilie Autumn’s live cabaret performance at El Rey Theatre, in support of her Fight Like A Girl (F.L.A.G.) Tour.

I knew going into it that I would come away with great shots, and if you know my work beyond concerts and musicians you’ll know that I also have a penchant for corsets and lingerie.  However, little did I know I was to expect her to put on a full theatrical performance with three of her all-female backing band.  Not only did I get great shots, but I got great shots of four different ladies putting on a full Victorian-gothic cabaret.
