Jared Leto and gang hit the stage at Aragon Ballroom to play an explosive show, encouraging fans to go as crazy as possible to have a great concert experience. Surprised I was to see Leto donning a new pink mohawk hairstyle. This, combined with the chemistry he and the band had with the audience, it’s clear he knows a thing or two about putting on a performance.
Photographer’s Notes: So, I found out when I picked up my credentials at the door that photographers weren’t shooting from the pit. Translation being, I had to shoot from amidst the crowd of thousands, which made every effort to pack as close to the stage as possible. Thank goodness the lighting was really intense and well-done; I was having enough trouble trying to focus properly while being taken by the surge of people around me.
I shot about 95% of the show using my 85mm 1.8, partly because I needed the extra zoom, but primarily because I couldn’t reach into my lens bag, let alone facilitate the dexterity required to swap lenses. And even if I owned two bodies you’d be a fool to think I was gonna bring both of them into that crowd.
