Cervena Fox: UK tattoo glamour model

Cervena Fox tattoo corset model

Here’s some photos I shot back in the Spring of UK tattoo model Cervena Fox.  Cervena gets lots of exposure not only for her excellent inkwork, but also for her trademark long red hair!  She’s a London tattoo model that tours the States a couple times a year, so I made sure to get her into my studio when she was last in Los Angeles since I had a corset that I thought would look great on her.

In The Studio: Fitness Modeling

fitness model studio photo

I wanted to quickly share with you a few images of a recent studio shoot I did.  The model was looking for some startup portfolio images to help her land gigs with fitness, bikini, and promo modeling.  She definitely had the body-type for these types of gigs — and beautiful hazel eyes to match — so I wanted to make sure she came away with photos to really help her promote herself.

Somewhat different from my usual clientele (ie, half-nude tattoo chicks and rock stars), but I wanted to demonstrate my versatility with something a little more, well, traditional.

Alysha Nett: Tattoo Glamour B&W

Alysha Nett tattoo glamour nude lingerie model black and white

Alysha Nett is probably my most-photographed model — at least she is now that I’ve had her in my studio once again this week.  She gains more and more popularity as a tattoo/glamour/nude model not only because her ink work is very striking, but because she knows how to bring it with lots of sexy poses and facial expressions.

Not only is it nice to have a model that looks stunning, but also one that works as naturally as Alysha does in front of the camera.

I decided it would be nice to go back-to-basics with a black and white shoot, mainly since she’s gotten more black ink tattoo work since I shot her nearly two years ago.

Justin Gill Photo Studio – Summer Edition

Photograpy Studio

So, I had made a blog post back in January about how excited I was for my new studio space I had moved into at the time, but I really felt it was necessary to redux that post to demonstrate how much more awesome it looks in the summer!

All the natural lighting pouring in through the windows looks amazing, but of course I’ve got studio lighting setups, if needed. Located in a historic Victorian mansion in the South Loop, you can’t help feeling classy shooting in there!

Sophie King Beauty Shoot

I took a short trip to Ohio last weekend to meet with family, and I managed to throw together a collaborative shoot.

I had hair and makeup stylists, and the lovely Sophie King standing in as model. She’s one of my favorite models, not only because she was one of my first when I forayed into making photography more than just a hobby many years ago.

Shoe Product Photography

Sometimes it’s all about presentation.

This is a product photo to promo a burgeoning shoe company, it’s a small flat that rolls up and stuffs into handbags, or anywhere you need a pair of shoes on the quick. Interesting concept, let’s see how it catches on.

New Studio Space!

Studio 9 New Studio Space!

I wanted to share photos of my new studio rental. I’m really excited about it!

It’s in a large historic mansion in the South Loop, right off Michigan Avenue. The interior is spacious, with lots of gorgeous Victorian decor, not to mention plenty of natural daylight.

In all, it makes for a great place to shoot, or set up my backdrops.

Keep in mind the photos below are just snapshots. Imagine what it will look like during your actual shoot!
