Switchfoot At House Of Blues

Alt-rockers Switchfoot played to a sold-out House Of Blues crowd last night in support of their new album Hello Hurricane. They continually expressed love for the city of Chicago, even paying homage to Smashing Pumpkins with a cover of “Today.” Lead singer Jon Foreman even joined the audience on several occasions, coming out to sing among them even from the far wing. It’s almost no surprise that the band has such a huge fan base.

For all you photo nerds: The House Of Blues is quickly becoming one of my favorite venues to shoot. The stage is only four feet high, the photo pit is roomy, there’s plenty of balconies to shoot from, and lighting is awesome(typically). The last photo was taken when singer Jon Foreman came all the way out to the wing to sing. I just happened to be there; it was so unexpected, I popped my rinky-dink popup flash to help fill in the shadows.
